OMG that is so funny (I mean in the I am your friend sort of way, seriously!) I was just thinking how I used to always read Vogue, Elle and W magazine. I was so into fashion now I am like 'OHHHH Parents just came out, wah hoo!'
AND worse yet, I see US Weekly and I have to grip the cart really hard NOT to buy that thing!
Finally, I was JUST thinking about getting a subscription to National Geographic or the New Yorker because I hardly ever have time to read books any longer but I am not sure I could handle a weekly thing (I think the NY is weekly, isn't it?) BUT I totally remember the NG coming to our house and pouring over it as a kid AND we kept them on the bookshelves in our house - many a time I used those for school projects/reports!
I figure there is plenty of time when Matthew grows up to be scholarly or intellectual, right?!
My love of Nat Geo comes from my dad's family...we also had the subscription growing up & were instructed in the proper way to handle those magazines! When I went to college my dad gifted me a subscription that still continues till this day! Did I ever mention that I was *thisclose* (runner up) to getting a position at HQ here? Events planner for their speakers that tour nationally...DREAM JOB!
OMG that would be a dream job! I would do it. I always wanted to be a photographer for them and travel the world taking amazing photos! Ah, to be young and have dreams like that again.
